Patrick Lamoral has joined the ranks of Tinkertree. The man who was European Head of Staffing at Monster Worldwide in a previous life, just suited up with the team and is already helping Jan Goossen out at the producers front lines of the invasion. With this extra pare of shoulders we hope to bring Plankton Invasion to the next level in the near future.
For those interested, Plankton Invasion is selected and will be pitching at CartoonForum in Ludwigsburg ( 16-19 sept.)

PlanktonInvasion debuted on TV in SPOTLIGHT, a lifestyle program on JimTv (a Flemisch Tv youth channel.) Angelique and her Jim team payed us a visit at Tinkertree & Grid . They took a little interview, thereby drawing the creators out off their shell and show a glimpse behind the invasion.

The website is finally finished, some stuff still needs to be cleared but it is interactive and that whats most important. The first contest officially starts the 1th of April but you can allready post your gags, jokes, ect … In the meantime I’m overclocking on the latest full webisode that should be finished within a week or 2. And remember: Patience is the ability to endure waiting, delay, or provocation without becoming annoyed or upset, or to persevere calmly when faced with difficulties. Grts, Joeri
To start with the bad news; daytime jobs & deadlines at Grid, the flu of our webmaster;Karel and trip with my partner Jan to Cartoon Movie, delayed the works on the invasion. As for the good news: A possible breath of life for the show seems not that silly to hope for! We are working hard on the renewed and interactive website and the contest forum. It should go online within a week or two. The next episode should air by the end of the month. Our crafty handyman Dirk is building The Tinkertree Studios as we speak. Up until now the Tinkertree offices consisted of a small room without windows, except then for the XP on my computer, on the same floor as Grid-VFX. Within four weeks this will be history. I’ll be able to take in panoramic views of the garden, the railtracks of Ghent-Brugge, the odd blue sky (it is Belgium after al)…We’ll be moving to the ground level of the Grid-VFX building in no less than 4 weeks time.
However, I do have some good news for you guys.
Besides my eagerness to move to my new offices, I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel -so to speak- of a brand new PlanktonInvasion episode called “15 degrees”. To be honest , I planned this to be a 30 sec. joke to tie you guys over during the wait for the first real full length episode “The Security Breach”. This 30 sec joke however, showed a bit more potential then I first expected. Friends and colleagues reacted very enthusiastic just on the basis of the rough outline of the story. We decided to move the deadline of “The Security Breach” and chose to concentrate on “15degrees” instead. And that’s how 30 seconds quickly became almost 3 minutes and it definitely looks great, even if I say so myself.
